well hello everyone! long time no post. where to start? where to start?
Tyler went to Texas for a month back in April.
Gavin turned 2 in May!!! He's getting so big. And he definitly has his own opinion that he likes us all to know about.
Brig isn't scared of the water anymore. He has a friend, Dash, who helped him to overcome the fear and as long as he has his lifevest on he's happy to be in the water.
As for me, i actually got somewhat of a tan this summer.
We had a family reunion/camping trip a few weeks ago. We went to Big Springs, Island Park, ID for a few days. We saw my parents and all of my siblings came, all 10 of us kids, and grandkids, and my grandparents, and aunts and uncles, and cousins. We had fun catching up talking. On thursday we went rafting, canoeing, and paddleboarding. Friday we went to Yellowstone Park. First time there ever. We saw some bison, elk, lots of canadian geese, and quite a few hotsprings. we even went and saw Old Faithful. She's not so Faithful anymore due to an earthquake some years ago.
Brig started Kindergarten today. He goes in the afternoon and had a blast today. I hope its a great year for him. He's come so far from when he started Preschool last year. I'm so proud of him.
Tyler is hoping to go to school this semester. Just a matter of getting the classes he needs to finish getting his associates degree.

Life
brig is now in preschool. so far so good. the first day was hard on both of us. he started getting on his bus than realized i wasn't getting on with him. so he jumped off and started crying and holding onto my leg. i had to pull him off and hand him up to the bus assistant. the driver said he was fine was he actually got to school. when brig got home he gave me a hug and said he cried both ways on the bus. the next day he was totally fine about the bus and going to school. by friday he ran for the bus. yes it early by 5 mins but he's now excited to go to school. i hope he learns alot and has fun too.
gavin is getting some more teeth i think. he's been clingy the last few days so not a whole lot has gotten done that needs to be done. he's learning new words all the time. its fun to listen to him try to say them.
tyler has work all week. he was also just called to be a teacher at church. which group or class i have don't know. something in priesthood i think. he goes in on halloween to get some cysts removed from his scalp. doc says that its an easy procedure. they're the kind of cysts that grow with time. so if you ever see an old man with a golfball like bump of his head thats what it is. so its safer and easier to do it now while he's young.
i've been working out this last week. i'm finally able to walk normal and not wincing with every step. we'll have to wait and see what this week will bring in terms of workout routines. i've decided that if i could do any job i wanted and stay home to do, i'd proofread books and articles before they get printed because i'm ALWAYS catching misspelled words and the wrong use of words. drives me nuts!!!! only problem with that is you have to have a degree to get hired to do a job like that and i don't have a degree at all. oh well.

Whats been.....
wow i didn't realize how long its been since i posted anything. roughly 9 months to be exact. lets see if i can remember all thats happened in that time.
tyler never got his inner state tranfer so we moved up to boise april 1st and have loved it so far. he is working at gowen field right now and is hoping to start school and the rotc program in january. only time will tell if he can get the classes he wants or not.
gavin is up and running around now. he's gotten alot of teeth now and more are coming. he's starting to talk and its really fun to listen to him try to sing. there aren't really words when he sings but his voice will try to follow the music. he loves to dance too. anytime he hears music of any kind you can expect him to bust a move. :)
brig should be starting preschool in a few weeks. he'll have to do some speech therapy because he still isn't talking clear and missing alot of speech patterns. he's getting so big. he's excited for halloween to be almost here because he says he's going to be iron man and superman and all those other heros that he loves.
as for me, not much has really changed. i'm hoping to lose some weight and hopefully look better by new years but i'm not going to hold my breath. i'm finding lots of new recipes to try. so far most as a go but there have been a few no-goes. the chili was really good.

Been awhile...
Well its been awhile. A long while actually. We're in our own place now and making it day by day. Tyler still hasn't gotten his Inner State Transfer. It is taking FOREVER!!! Normally they don't take this long so maybe we're not suppose to be in AZ anymore but in ID. I don't know.
Anyways.....Tyler starts school at MCC next week. 8 more classes and he's got is Associates Degree. Yay him!!! :)
Me...I'm starting to work out again and will hopefully keep losing the weight that is dropping off. Fingers crossed people!!
Brig...is the typical 3 year old. Thinks he can do everything himself and will even tell me he's busy or to hold on a minute. Or to just wait. :) Amazing how well he talks now after getting his tonsils out and ear tubes put in. AND he is starting to like food too!!! Not just milk.
Gavin.....my baby is getting big. Still doing the army crawl but put that kid in his walker and he goes crazy in every direction. And he's darn proud of himself when he does it too. He's figured out music and what his body can do to did. Quite a little dancer. :) OH!! and he's getting his 2 bottom teeth but he smiles all the time. Not a whole lots of tears for that little man. Got himself a hair cut too.
What else is going on? My sister Merry Jo is getting Married in SLC in March. Her man is a good guy. Got to meet him over the summer. My other sister Beth is doing Junior Miss Arizona. Her pageant is tomorrow at Mountain View. And my parents and younger siblings are moving to ID this coming week. I don't know much else that is happening right now. Like i said going day to day. Bedtime. I'm the only one still up. Hopefully not for long.

Its time....
HE'S A COMING HOME!!! Tyler will be coming home next weekend depending on how long out-processing takes but he'll be home. He's still going to try to get into to airborne school but he felt we needed him here at home right now. So after 4.5 months, we'll have a daddy and hubby at home again!!
Gavin is getting big. He's in the 95% for length and 25%-50% in weight. So he's long and skinny. He fills out the 6-9 month clothes fairly well but they're very wide on him. He focuses so well and is constantly talking and laughing. He's starting to try rolling over but keeps rolling over and pinning his arm wrong so he can't go completely over. He loves his big brother. Saves the biggest smiles for him.
Brig is doing good and getting bigger. Sad news for him though is that he has to have surgery Nov. 3rd to get eat tubes and to remove his tonsils. He's talking more and more, though its still a little hard to understand him. But atleast he tries to make the right sounds. He's also learning his colors and numbers. Brig loves nursery at church and has started saying the dinner prayers with a little help from me or Grandmom. Potty training is at a stand still right now due to the upcoming surgery and he screams everytime I put him on the toilet. LOL!! Candy and stickers have lost their glory with this little boy.

My boys keep me busy but I've got lots of help which I'll be forever thankful for. I can't wait for Tyler to get home, its been along time.

...More than 1000 words...
Just life going on while Tyler's at boot camp at Fort Jackson, SC. I didn't get a picture of it but yesterday Brig hit Gavin with a Wii remote and than pulled him out of his swing while I was doing dishes. Brave baby didn't cry at all. He must know he's got a rough and tough older brother. :)

"He's mine!!"

Just being silly.

I'm awake!! Hello my name is Gavin :)

Our latest and greatest............. :)
This is baby Gavin Lewis Horton. He was born May 3rd at 9:43 pm by c-section. He weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and is 20.5 inches long. Lots of dark blonde hair. He's perfect.
Brig is excited to have the baby here and home. He keeps wanting the baby to come and play with him thinking they could do things together now. When I explain to him that Gavin isn't big enough yet and that we have to be soft and gentle with him, Brig smiles and gives him a hug or a kiss.
Of course Gavin has Tyler and I wrapped around his little finger. Tyler leaves for boot camp on May 18th so he is spending as much time as he possible can with both of his little boys. I love him and will miss him while he's gone.

Much is happening....if only I could remember it all
So its been awhile since I last logged anything. Lets see if I can think of all thats happened.
Tyler joined the Idaho National Guard and leaves for Basic Training on May 18th but will be leaving from Phoenix. He'll be gone til end of September. He's totally excited and is having his first pre-basic training drill weekend this weekend. I got to talk to him tonight...which I didn't think I'd get to. He said it went pretty much the way he thought it would go and thought it totally cool. :) We'll be moving back to Mesa in mid-April. We're excited to go. We'll miss Idaho but definitely not the snow. I'm 7 months pregnant but the baby is measuring big by about 2-3 weeks. Brig is excited to be a big brother. He'll pat my tummy and talk gibberish once in awhile. Brig is trying to potty train himself. He'll go and stand at the toilet. If I get to close to even try to help him he tells me to get back!!! The last few days I've just let him run around without his diaper once he pulls it off but I set a timer and tell him he has to have a diaper on when it goes off because Daddy will be home soon. He's been really good about it. Only peed on the floor once and told me about while he was going. He was a big boy and put a towel on it when I got over to him. :) All I can say is that there is some benefit from having no doors on any of the rooms in our house right now.....bathroom included.

Busy Busy Busy
So things have been happening and days have been going on. Let's see if I can recall all thats happened in the last 3 weeks. The kids are getting along great. Emma is always telling Brig...."Big no. Big sit down." Things like that. Of course like any two 2 year olds they fight over toys or one makes the other cry for no apparent reason. Brig gave Emma her first black eye. He threw a jenga block at her and it cut her right below her left eye. Poor little girl cried so hard for like 5 mins and Brig just kept trying to give her a hug to say sorry. He doesn't know how to say the word yet but he loves to give sorry hugs.
I'm doing okay with this second pregnancy. I get tired real easy and I tend to feel sick after I take my prenatal pills no matter what part of the day I take it. I've been dealing with alot of lows and an occasional high with my bloodsugars. I got "tickled" on Sunday Monday or Tuesday coming home from Idaho Falls. It felt weird but it kinda felt like I was getting tickled from inside my tummy....twice. Tyler made the comment the other day that it seems like my stomach has a mind of its own because some days its bigger than others. LOL...
Tyler has decided to join ROTC at BYU-I but needs to get his gpa up just a little so it will take a semester to do that to get accepted to BYU-I. He's decided he wants to be a pilot in the National Guard and would become an officer through ROTC and get paid better than if he joined now as a private.
We finally get to move into our own place this weekend I think. It'll be nice.
We've gotten snowed on twice since we've gotten here and its supposed to dump more on us this coming weekend. I'm hoping it'll be alot but Jo is hoping not because she has a wedding to photograph this Saturday. Brig is funny with the snow. The first time it snowed he looked out the window and said..."ewwwwww!!" The second time it snowed he wanted to go playing it but wouldn't put his boots on so he didn't get to play in it. He watch Cars instead.
I'm guessing that before to long Brig will be ready to do the whole potty training thing. He took his diaper off the other day and brought it to me saying "Mommy.Mommy." I looked over at him and it was a stinky diaper. I took it from him and he ran for the toilet. He just had to sit on it. While sitting on the big boy toilet, he starts tearing off little pieces of toilet paper and dropping it in the toilet between his legs. Than something clicked and he ripped off a whole square and dropped it in behind him. It was very cute and he was very proud of him self.
So next week is Thanksgiving. We'll be at Tyler's aunt and uncle's house in Idaho Falls that day. Brig gets on with their family very well. There will be kids his age there on Thursday so I hope he gets along with them okay. If not, Casey or Jeff might have a little 2 year old tagging along behind them. (Those are 2 of Tyler's cousins)

We're Here
Well, for those that don't know Tyler got a job in Idaho Falls, Idaho. We've been apart since Conference weekend. We are now together again. Tyler and Jeremy came and got Brig and I this last weekend and we made it to Jo and Jeremy's house in Rexburg, Id around midnight last night. The drive wasn't bad at all. Brig slept most of the way and was pretty good when he was awake. Since there was so much stuff with him in the back seat, we were able to put him in the middle seat so he could see. I think he rather liked it. I was able to sleep a few hours but I tried to stay awake. I didn't want to have Tyler falls asleep when I was sleeping but Tyler did a good job at staying awake. We discovered about the time we crossed into Idaho that we couldn't turn on the heater if we wanted to be able to see out the windows. We're going to get it fixed but it was so cold for the last hour and a half. We couldn't turn on the heat at all. Oh well. I just hope Tyler's warm enough driving to and from Idaho Falls for the next few weeks.
So our story for the trip is this. We were about an hour outside of Vegas yesterday morning and the wind was blowing pretty good. Tyler and I were following Jeremy. We had our car and Jeremy was in a truck pulling the trailer. All of a sudden we see the camper shell that was on the truck come flying over the back of the trailer. It bounced once in the right lane and landed off the road about 10 feet. I was so glad it didn't hit anyone since there were cars behind us in both lanes. Hopefully they saw it happen and were able to slow down. Anyways, so we all pulled over. While Jeremy was packing up to get closer to the shell, he got to far over and ended up getting stuck in the loose gravel, a little jack-knifed. They tried to figure out how to get it out but it just kept getting deeper and deeper. After like an hour, 2 trucks pulled over and helped us get it out and back on the road. ;)

Merry Jo
Merry Jo is one of my younger sisters. She just graduated high school in May and is dating a wonderful guy named Tommy. I got a text around 530 am today from Merry Jo saying that she had been rushed to the hospital last night but she was going to be okay. She had overian cysts, only recently found that out about 1 1/2 months ago when the first one burst. Well last night she was out with Tommy at a friends house when this one burst. Thankfully her friend is her doctor's niece and her brother is in medical school. Merry Jo passed out and than started throwing everything and anything up. Couldn't breathe because of all the pressure going on inside. Nasty business. The Docter/uncle told them to take her straight to the hospital. It turns out that when this cyst burst, it also ruptured an artery in her stomache. She had 2 liters of blood pumped out of her stomache and was then given 2 liters of new blood. The doctor in the ER told her and my mom and Tommy that if she had been any later, she could had died from the amount of blood in her stomache. SO thankfully, I still have a younger sister named Merry Jo. Brig and I went and saw her for a little bit this morning. She'll be there til sometime tomorrow afternoon.

A day in the kitchen
So yesterday I had most of my family over. My mom, Emily and Kambri. Damon, Tanner, and Jedera. Mom came to teach me how to make bread the correct way even though I have the recipe, though no one makes it like she does. I can say it turned out delicious. But off story. The kids came along to swim and Emily took Kambri into the pool as well. I can honestly say that Emily looks better in my swim suits while pregnant than I do. Which is good for her and a little depressing for me but its in the works to fit them all!!! Kambri didn't like the pool all that much but she loved looking down at everyone from the balcony over looking the pool. Brig was hanging on for dear life to Tanner. Thank good Tanner is a good uncle and loves his nephew. So Mom and everyone left around 430 pm. Tyler was on the phone setting up a job interview with Chase Bank (keep your fingers crossed!!!) so he didn't get to say good-bye. Any ways, I was taking out the bread shortly after that when Brig came into the kitchen. I told him Hot! Don't touch! I guess he thought I was talking about the oven door because he tried to push in the oven rack with his bare hand. Oh how he cried and I felt terrible. I wanted to cry too. So I ran his hand under cold water and than some aloe. Also some baby Tylenol because I didn't have anything else for him. I gave him an ice pack too. He thought that was great fun! He stopped crying and kept putting it on his head or in his mouth. I looked at his hand this morning, it wasn't to pretty. His right hand has some nasty blisters on it. 2 fingers and the pad of his hand between the 2. Today there was an occasional ouch but he didn't seem to notice it very much at all. I love my son. Its amazing how fast time is going. He'll be 2 in August and he still loves to cuddle with me like when he was born.

A Wedding, 2 dogs, & lots of family
So its been awhile since I've posted anything. Lets see if I can remember all thats happened. Still looking for jobs. We'll most likely end up moving in with either set of parents but who knows just yet. Brig is just getting big and big and is skinny like his daddy. He's saying lots of new words and you can almost get full sentences out of him (depends on the day). It was cute yesterday on the way to mom's house. He kept asking me where the babies were. I told him I didn't know where they were because I hadn't seen them. So then he asked about where his daddy was.
Brig and I went with my family to a cousin's wedding Memorial Day weekend in New Mexico. It was a rainy weekend but it was nice. The wedding was beautiful. The bride and groom very happy. They went to Hawaii for the honeymoon. We stayed with my Aunt Connie and her family. They also have 2 dogs. Now dogs used to scare Brig but by the time we left on Sunday, he was chasing those 2 dogs every where. He wouldn't go to bed at night until the dogs were in bed. He'd give them hugs and kisses but didn't like it when they tried to jump on him or lick him. The barking scared him some what but not to bad. Only if it was right in his face.
I got to talk to a cousin of mine that i haven't talked to since i was about 10 years old. She got married a few months before I did. It was nice catching up with her. There were family there from Utah, D.C., Arizona, and New Mexico. It was great. Don't get to see them very often anymore.

Three of my sisters

These are my 3 youngest sisters. As you can all see, they're gorgeous. Merry Jo (far left) is 18 and is starting to spread her wings. Beth (middle) is 16 and all the boys love her. Jedera (far right) is the youngest of us 10 kids at the age of 10. She's a pistol and always fun to be around. All of these girls are very sweet and are some of my best friends. They may be my sisters but they'll always be some of the best friends I ever find.
